Unless you've been hungry for more than a few hours, you don't know what homeless people struggle with every day. They never know how or when they'll eat their next meal. Hunger affects their ability to concentrate and function, making it more difficult for them to find ways to help themselves.
North Star has an opportunity for you to make a difference in the lives of those who are hungry in Kansas City. We will prepare and serve a hot lunch to those who are struggling and wondering where their next meal will come from. For the past couple years we’ve done a late summer/early fall cookout. Your generous monetary donations will cover the cost of the food.
On Saturday, September 11, we will prepare and serve a hot lunch to those less fortunate in downtown Kansas City. Sign up in the Connection Corner to help serve and/or donate toward the purchase of the food for the meal.
Formerly known as Rebuilding Together Liberty, this non-profit organization has expanded to include more than just Liberty. Rebuilding Day is Saturday, October 2. Last year we had such an overwhelming response that we were able to work at two different sites helping two different families. We would like to know as soon as possible how many people are planning to participate. Please contact the office ASAP if you'd like to help on October 2.
